Anaphora (from a Greek word meaning “an offering”) was a music ministry that served the Church in the Edmonton area from 2005-14. While band members were blessed to serve at a variety of conferences, retreats, and youth rallies during that time, they focused their energy on an event called Exalt which, at its peak, drew more than 200 young people to an evening of Eucharistic Adoration in North Edmonton. In the spring of 2014, in response the demands of growing families and careers, Anaphora concluded their service to the Church as a collective group. A weekend in late June was chosen to spend recording several of their favourite and best songs at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic High School in Spruce Grove.
It took five years, but these tracks have been edited and produced, and the album will be released at the Catholic Family Life Conference, where Mike will be leading music for the adult portion of the conference, along with many other former members of Anaphora.
